Whats That?

Eden Place is an urban oasis and a nature preserve
that seeks to introduce the Chicago community to
food production and environmental education.Founded in 1997 by Michael Howard, a Fuller Park
resident, Eden Place has evolved from an illegal
dumpsite to a vibrant environmental learning center offering classes and programs to the surrounding community. In May 2004, Eden Place was honored by the Environmental Protection Agency with the Conservation and Native Landscaping Award; recognizing creative use of native plants and animals that contribute to the region’s biodiversity. To date, over 20,000 youth have been exposed to skills ranging from urban agriculture to small business development.
Plan a visit to Eden Place and experience the restorative benefits of connecting with nature in the city. Explore the grounds, bring a picnic lunch, visit with our ducks and chickens, and be ready for surprises around every corner!

Eden Place is proud to highlight US Forest International Programs as our key partner, working with us to support a wide range of programming associated with the conservation of monarch butterflies and migratory birds directly in the community. These programs build awareness of international conservation issues and allow Fuller Park residents to contribute local solutions to flyway-level concerns. By during their part, Eden Place demonstrates how little spaces can have big results!.
